Pogba's agent gives fresh update on his future

Pogba's agent gives fresh update on player's future as Man Utd continues to play hardball on transfer

July 17, 2019 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
Mino Raiola has addressed issues regarding the Frenchman's potential departure from Old Trafford this summer.

There has been very little activity regarding Paul Pogba's purported exit from Manchester United in recent weeks but the Frenchman's agent insists that all is not over yet.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been tipped to secure a sensational move away from Old Trafford after making his intention to leave clear. It was rumored that the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid are keen on recruiting the Frenchman ahead of the new season.

However, talks of the World Cup winner departing from the Red Devils have significantly diminished in recent times with the Premier League giants making it clear to suitors that the player is not for sale. In addition, a price tag of 180 million pounds has been reportedly slapped on the club's record signing to ward off interest from other top European clubs.

Amid the ongoing wrangle around Paul Pogba, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has outlined the importance of the midfielder to his side as he aims to rebuild the team around the ex-Juventus star. There have also been talks that the French star could potentially be handed the captains' armband ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

"Paul is a fantastic player and a fantastic human being. He has always been a great professional," Solskjaer told BBC ahead of Wednesday's friendly with Leeds United in Perth.

"When I was at Molde, I said, 'if he's in your squad, you'd build a team around him'. I would say the same now.

"Manchester United fans know their football. We know Paul has been criticised by a few but he's loved by loads more. You know, it's the best feeling you can have to be at this club when we're successful.

"The ones that might want to leave now haven't been here when it's been successful. Hopefully they want to be part of that. I want to be part of it."

Nevertheless, while Solskjaer is aiming to get the best out of Pogba, his agent, Mino Raiola insists that the door has not been shut on his client potentially leaving Old Trafford this summer.

"There's still nothing," Raiola said as per Marca as he gave an update about Pogba's future. "Staying at Manchester United? I live my life day by day, we'll see what happens.

"The end of this story hasn't been written. We're here today, I don't know about tomorrow."
