Africa Cup of Nations: How to watch Senegal vs Tunisia live on July 14, 2019

July 13, 2019 By Ali M.
The Lions of Teranga and the Carthage Eagles will battle it out on Sunday for a spot in the final. Check out our preview for more info.

What is the form of Senegal compared to Tunisia?

Senegal head into this tie on the back of a three-game winning streak, their most recent victory being a 1-0 triumph over Benin in the quarter-finals. The Lions of Teranga have lost only once all competition, at the hands of Algeria, the only time in their last 11 games in all competitions in which they failed to win (W10).

Tunisia, on the other hand, boast a two-game winning streak. Penalty shootout was required to overcome Ghana in the round of 16 before beating Madagascar 3-0 in the quarter-finals. This means they are without defeat in their last eight games; however, three of those fixtures ended in draws (W5).

Senegal vs Tunisia head-to-head record

The last time these two nations faced off was two years ago in this very same competition. Senegal won that encounter 2-0 but the head-to-head record still doesn't favor west African side.

Games played: 20

Senegal wins: 4

Tunisia wins: 9

Draw: 7

Team news

There are no fresh injury or suspension concerns for either sides. Wahbi Khazri had thigh issues but made his return in Tunisia's win over Madagascar. As for Senegal, they will have to sort out their selection headache of whether to start Keita Balde or Ismaila Sarr in attack.

Senegal are the safest bet in this match. The Lions of Teranga are the favorites for the tournament despite not having reached the final since 2002. Aliou Cisse's men have kept things tight at the back in this tournament so far, conceding only one goal in Egypt.

Tunisia, meanwhile, went four straight gaes without winning in 90 minutes. They registered three draws in the group stage and needed penalty shootout to overcome Ghana in the round of 16. The Carthage Eagles ended that in the quarter-finals, convincingly beating Madagascar but doubts still linger.

Sadio Mane will be one to watch out for. The Liverpool ace has three goals under his belt in this competition and could be Tunisia's biggest threat in this last-four showdown.
