Friday's training session was led by the other members of the staff. The coach's return to Canada is yet to be determined.

Real Madrid's morning workout had one major absence, as coach Zinedine Zidane was nowhere to be found.

The team's training session had Zidane's assistants in charge, as the French tactician left the team's training camp to catch a plane.

Sources close to the team revealed that Zizou left Canada due to a personal problem, which is yet to be revealed.

The club issued a press release to let fans know why Zidane skipped training.

"Our manager, Zinedine Zidane, has left the pre-season  training camp in Montreal for personal reasons. Until he returns, sessions will be led by assistant coach David Bettoni," the document states.

The team asked for "respect and discretion" for their coach, who flew back to Spain along with his wife.

Zidane is expected back with the team for their first pre-season match against Bayern, which is set to take place on July 21.
