The USWNT's co-captain delivered an impromptu speech in New York City that goes above and beyond football -or soccer-.

Whether you followed the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup or not, you have to acknowledge Megan Rapinoe as a major influence for this generation.

The USWNT's co-captain had the chance to address the crowd in New York City, where she got a chance to praise the United States Soccer Federation, the team's coaching staff, her team-mates and generally, to take a stand for Women's football around the world. Added to that, she defended president Carlos Cordeiro and even aimed a slight dig at the president of the United States.

Moreover, Rapinoe's message will go down in history as one of the most inspirational moments for the USWNT. The confident footballer and leader did not leave no stone unturned when asking people there to try and make a difference for their community and becoming better people for the world to enjoy.

"We have to love more. Hate less. We got to listen more and talk less … It's our responsibility to make the world a better place," Rapinoe said at one point of her nearly seven-minute speech. Needless to say, it's hard to disagree with the 34-year-old midfielder.
