The Spanish giants will change a few faces to keep themselves in contention for more titles in the next few years.

Atlético Madrid is going to be one of the most active teams in the summer transfer window, and Los Colchoneros have proven so with quite a busy day.

With Diego Godín's departure and the highly-anticipated transfer involving Antoine Griezmann, Atlético has made it their duty to find suitable replacements for some of their key players from the past. Added to those transfers, Atlético confirmed that 23-year-old midfielder Rodrigo will leave club to join Manchester City.

The player himself made his way into La Liga's offices to pay his $78M buyout clause to join the Citizens, as reported by the Spanish side.

"Manchester City has made a deposit in La Liga for Rodrigo's buyout clause, which unilaterally ends his contract with our club."

Then, Atlético took the time to give their fans what they were expecting: three signings ahead of the 2019-20 season.

The first name to make headlines was Brazilian center back Felipe, who will team up with José María Giménez for the next three seasons. The former Corinthians and Porto footballer comes highly recommended, as he recovered the third-highest amount of balls during the 2018-19 in the Portuguese top-flight. Felipe Augusto de Almeida Monteiro recently turned 30.

Next up, Atlético fans were made aware of Héctor Herrera's signing. The Mexican international was Porto's captain last season, which is testament for the leadership skills required to play under Diego Simeone. The 29-year-old will sign a three-year deal with Los Colchoneros on Thursday.

The cherry on top came when Los Colchoneros confirmed the record-breaking deal reached with Benfica to sign wonderkid Joao Felix. The 19-year-old footballer will join Atlético on a record-breaking $142M deal, which will see him stay at the Wanda Metropolitano for the next seven seasons.

The team welcomed the player with a classy video posted on social media.

Joao Felix's transfer to Los Colchoneros is now the fifth most expensive move in world football, Only Neymar, Kylian Mbappé, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembelé have been transferred for a higher amount of money.

If that was not enough reason to have Atlético fans on the edge of their seats, the revelation of the player's number will surely give them a hint about the immediate future.
