Pochettino's men have sealed the deal with Olympique Lyon for the midfielder, who is set to replace Christian Eriksen if he chooses to leave the North London side.

Tottenham wants to keep up the good work under Mauricio Pochettino, and they have landed themselves quite a signing.

Tottenham fans will have something to celebrate after Tanguy Ndombelé's transfer to the London-based side. Ndombelé was also being followed by Real Madrid and Manchester United, but Spurs' bid for the footballer caught the eye of the French team, resulting in a satisfactory transfer for both parties.

Ndombelé's initial deal with Tottenham will last until the end of the 2024-25 season, according to the team's Twitter feed.

Ndombelé's signing ends a 300-day wait for Spurs fans to celebrate a new signing. The last player to be added to the team's roster was Lucas Moura, back in January 31, 2018.

If that was not enough reason to celebrate, the 22-year-old's signing will go down in history as Tottenham's most expensive signing of all time, since the player will join the North London team following an initial payment of $71M. Add-ons included in the contract could take the transfer to $81M.

Ndombelé's signing is not the only one being plotted by Pochettino in the current summer transfer window, as Roma's Nicolo Zaniolo has also been linked with a move to the English capital.
