The 'dark horse' of the tournament clashes against the favorite to win the title. Will the Haitian side shock the world with a win against Martino's men?

What is Haití and México's CONCACAF Gold Cup record?

This is Haiti's seventh CONCACAF Gold Cup appearance, and it has been the most successful. This is the first time in history in which Haiti has reached the semi-final stage, following three previous appearances where they were one of the last eight teams in the competition.

Mexico is the most-winning team in this tournament's history, with seven titles to their name. Mexico's last triumph came in the 2015 edition, when they defeated Jamaica in the title clash. Curiously, the same rival kept them from winning back-to-back trophies after eliminating El Tri in the semi-final stage of the 2017 edition.

What is Haití and México's form ahead of this game?

Haiti has won each and everyone of their games in the ongoing CONCACAF Gold Cup. The Haitian side defeated Bermuda, Nicaragua and Costa Rica to claim the top spot in Group B, and their come-from-behind win against Canada gave them the chance to finish among the top four teams in the tournament.

México is yet to lose a game under Gerardo "Tata" Martino, and their form during this tournament was a good example of it. El Tri breezed past the Group stage with three consecutive wins, but their Quarterfinal clash against Costa Rica concluded in a draw. Mexico went on to defeat Los Ticos after a grueling penalty shootout.

Haití vs México - Head-to-head

  • This will be the 10th game between Mexico and Haití.

  • Mexico has won seven out of their nine previous games against Haití.

  • Haitíhas never beaten El Tri in a friendly or competitive match. The Haitian side has only been able to draw two games prior to Tuesday's clash against the CONCACAF giants.

  • Mexico has only conceded twice in their nine previous games against Haiti. El Tri's strikers have found the back of the net 26 times when facing the team from the Caribbean.

  • The last meeting between these teams took place in the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Mexico claimed an emphatic 4-0 win against Les Grenadiers ten years ago.

Haití vs México - Injuries and suspensions

Haiti's coach Marc Collat will be able to field his best team, since Les Bicolores have no injury concerns and no suspended players prior to the game against Mexico.

Mexico will not have PSV Eindhoven midfielder Erick Gutiérrez around for this game, following the thigh injury the player picked up against Canada. Coach Martino may also have to deal with captain Andrés Guardado's absence after being subbed off against Costa Rica due to a muscular problem. Martino will have to watch the game from the stands, as he picked up a second yellow card against Costa Rica and was eventually banned to exercise his duties on the sidelines.
