A departure could be imminent with talks set to advance in the coming days.

The agent of Romelu Lukaku has revealed that Inter Milan is keen on signing the Manchester United striker. The 26-year-old Belgian forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Serie A club this summer with his two-year spell with the Red Devils said to be nearing its end.

Lukaku's desire to join Antonio Conte at Inter Milan has been an open secret for some time now after reports emerged that the ex-Everton star was not in the plans of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of next season. As a result, the striker has already handed in a transfer request and the Old Trafford outfit will consider parting ways with him should the right offer arrive.

Sky Sports recently revealed that Manchester United was holding out for a transfer fee in the region of 75 million pounds as it aims to recoup the amount spent on Lukaku following his move from Everton. However, as things stand, head way is yet to be made in the negotiations as Inter Milan is nowhere near that valuation.

On Tuesday, Lukaku's agent Federico Pastorello was spotted meeting with representatives of Inter Milan in Italy. Speaking to FC Inter News after the talks, he stated that the day's discussions was about another client of his, Eduardo Vergani, although he expects negotiations for Lukaku to begin soon.

"We talked about [Edoardo] Vergani because his is a more urgent situation.

"In the next few days, we'll talk about the rest.

"Lukaku is a dream, a difficult one to make happen as such, but I believe nothing is impossible."

He added: "Yes [Inter are trying to sign Lukaku]. He's publicly expressed his plans and desires. We'll see what happens."
