Romelu Lukaku's attempts to force a move away from Old Trafford seem to have fructifed, as the Belgian striker has reportedly agreed terms to leave Manchester United this summer.

The Belgian footballer fell down the team's pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, which forced him to search for other employment opportunities. Inter Milan has made the player one of their main transfer targets this season, and personal terms between the striker and the club have been successfully negotiated.

Lukaku is expected to put pen to paper to a five-year deal with the nerazzurri side, where he will earn around $8.3M yearly. The 26-year-old will have to fight for a spot in Conte's lineup with Lautaro Martínez, since Argentine striker and former captain Mauro Icardi seems to be heading out of the club.

According to the report by the Daily Mail, Inter execs are now negotiating terms with their peers at Manchester United, in order to lower their initial demands, which had them asking Inter to pay over $85M for the player's services. The English newspaper reveals that Manchester United execs would agree to transfer Lukaku if Inter comes up with $75M.

During the last international break of the 2018-19 season, Lukaku heaped praise on the league and especially on Inter's boss, Antonio Conte, in what was seen as an indication of where he wants to continue his playing career.

"I was always a big fan of the Italian League. I have two Leagues which I've always dreamed about - the English League and Serie A. I love Italy. With the transfer of [Cristiano] Ronaldo, I think the Italian League is now coming back," the striker said.

"Antonio Conte going to Inter is really good because he is, for me, the best manager in the world. He knows what I think about him," Lukaku added about his would-be boss with the nerazzurri.

Conte has always been a fan of Lukaku's skills since the striker played for Everton. Now, his long-time dream of having him around seems to be a matter of days, but this move will only be confirmed in the next weeks of the summer transfer window.
