The English club may not have good news for their fans when it comes to adding new names to their roster this season.

Unfortunately for Chelsea fans, their favorite team seems destined to spend the current transfer window without any new signings.

The Blues handed an appeal to their transfer ban to the Court of Arbitrage for Sports (CAS), in an attempt to delay the decision. Chelsea was handed a two-window ban for allegedly breaching FIFA's rules for transfer deals involving players under the age of 18, and after today's revelation, there seems to be no hope for the team's immediate transfer activity.

Earlier today, CAS authorities revealed a number of cases which will be heard and tried during the summer. Unfortunately for Chelsea, their case is not listed on CAS' website, meaning that their transfer ban will be heard after the ongoing transfer window comes to an end.

The last case included in CAS' press release from earlier today is set to be heard on August 14, six days after the summer transfer window comes to an end in the Premier League. If things stand, Chelsea will not be allowed to sign any players for the entire 2019-20 season.

What really stands out is that Chelsea opted to file the appeal rather than asking the Court to freeze their transfer ban while their case was being heard. The Blues have surrendered that right when they filed the appeal, which means that the summer transfer window will not bring any good news for Chelsea fans.
