According to the report, this explains why Los Blancos shifted their focus to Eden Hazard.

PSG superstar Neymar has long been on Real Madrid's radar. However, according to the latest rumors, a move to Santiago Bernabeu is all but dead.

Spanish news outlet Sport claims that the Brazilian has turned down the idea of joining Los Blancos. The reason is simple: the Selecao ace is keen on a return to Barcelona.

The 27-year-old has been a hit since shattering the record transfer fee to move to France. He has scored 51 goals and provide 29 assists in 58 games for Les Parisiens but is reportedly unhappy with life in the French capital.

At Camp Nou, the Brazilian formed an excellent partnership with Messi and Suarez in what was one of the deadliest attacking trios in history. Several reports have previously stated that Neymar yearns for a return to Catalonia. However, a move to Barcelona over Real Madrid could only occur if the opportunity to leave Ligue 1 emerged.

At the moment, PSG is unlikely to entertain the thought of selling the attacker despite his injuries. Their dream of winning the Champions League remains unfulfilled and shipping off the Brazilian would only deal them a huge setback.

Furthermore, the odds of the Blaugrana agreeing on a fee for their former superstar with his current employers are doubtful. Should the chance arise, however, Barcelona would be ahead of Real Madrid in the pecking order, which explains why they have turned to Eden Hazard.

Florentino Perez was willing to offer $394M to lure him away from the Parc des Princes to Santiago Bernabeu. However, the player and his agent listened to their offers but turned down Los Merengues nonetheless.

Neymar is currently on the sidelines after picking an ankle injury in a friendly against Qatar. The unfortunate tear to a ligament in his right ankle has now ruled him out of the 2019 Copa America, which kicks off on June 14.
