Neymar OUT of the 2019 Copa América

CONFIRMED: Neymar OUT of the 2019 Copa América

June 6, 2019 By Oscar Rojas
The Brazilian ace will not be available for A Canarinha in their attempt to win a ninth Copa América title this summer.

Neymar's bad luck streak continues, as the player has been ruled out of the upcoming Copa América due to an ankle injury.

The Brazilian footballer had to leave the friendly game between A Canarinha and Qatar in tears, following a tackle by Assim Madibo. The wingman left the pitch in tears, and things seemed to be taking a turn for the worst when he had to be carried out to the dressing room by two members of the team's staff.

Today, Brazilian football authorities confirmed on their website that Neymar will be out between the next six to eight weeks, making him unavailable for the 2019 Copa América, set to take place in Brazil.

Neymar was diagnosed with a torn ligament to his right ankle, and given the short time left before the beginning of the competition, Neymar will have to watch the tournament on TV.

The Brazilian Football Confederation is set to announce Neymar's replacement in the following hours.
