PSG are dealing with some drama due to Kylian Mbappe, but Les Parisiens will need to put that behind them as they chase three points in the first Classique of the season.

PSG are unfortunately dealing with a great deal of drama due to Kylian Mbappe, but Les Parisiens will need to refocus ahead of their showdown against Marseille on Sunday. Christophe Galtier's side are still on top of Ligue 1 despite a surprise draw with Reims last time out, and overall, the French giants have hit a bit of a snag as they come into this match having failed to win their last three matches across all comps.

Indeed, including the aforementioned scoreless draw with Reims, PSG were held to very surprising and frustrating 1-1 stalemates with Benfica in the Champions League. At the moment, while PSG are on top of the table, they are just a point ahead of Lorient, who have had a brilliant start to the season. That being said, Les Parisiens have been virtually flawless when it comes to playing at the Parc des Princes, where they are unbeaten in their last 26 Ligue 1 games since losing 1-0 to Lille back in April 2021.

Meanwhile, Marseille find themselves in fourth spot and will be keen on getting back to winning ways after suffering a 2-1 reversal to a newly promoted Ajaccio. Before that loss, Marseille were on a ten match unbeaten run in Ligue 1 but have experienced a hoodoo as of late when it comes to facing PSG.

Marseille have not won Le Classique at the Parc des Princes since September 2020, and now have gone four games across all comps sans a win. Will they take advantage of PSG's off the pitch drama to pick up a victory, or will the visitors be left again disappointed?

Team news: PSG vs Marseille

PSG: The hosts have been given a boost with Lionel Messi returning to training after recovering from a calf injury, and the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner is expected to return to action on Sunday. However, Presnel Kimpembe is still out due to a hamstring injury, while Sergio Ramos is banned for this match. In addition, Renato Sanches as well as Nuno Mendes remains out due to groin and muscular issues respectively.

Marseille: Only Sead Kolasinac is out, meaning that the visitors have a full-strength squad available.
