The Argentine boss is still under contract with the English side, but he wants to add some new players to his roster for the first time in 12 months.

Mauricio Pochettino may have worked miracles without any new players this season, but the Argentine coach is not willing to spend a couple more transfer windows without adding footballers to his squad. With that in mind, the South American tactician has asked his president to try and sign up to four players to boost his team and cover some expected departures.

According to a report by Spanish newspaper As, Pochettino has named five priority targets to make Tottenham a competitive team for the 2019-20 season, especially since some players are on their way out of the North London club.

The Spanish media outlet reveals that Pochettino has asked for one or two midfielders, with Tanguy Ndombelé, Donny Van de Beek, André Gomes and Betis' Giovani Lo Celso as the preferred options. Those players are intended to fill the void set to be left by Christian Eriksen, who is on his way out to the Bernabeu.

The UEFA Champions League runners-up will also try to sign two defenders. Ryan Sessegnon and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are Pochettino's preferred transfer targets, in order to cover a possible exit by Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose.

Up front, Pochettino has asked Tottenham's hierarchy to try and sign Wilfried Zaha or Roma's starlet Nicola Zaniolo. Their additions would fill the void left by Fernando Llorente, added to the expected exit of Vincent Janssen.

So, there you have it. Pochettino has big plans to spend the money earned after finishing second in the UEFA Champions League, but only time will tell how many of these players will end up joining the English side.
