While the Red Devils are expected to sell up to 14 players, four footballers have been given a lifeline by the Norwegian boss.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have been given carte blanche to re-shape Manchester United, but something tells us that fans will not be happy with one of his decisions.

The Norwegian boss is set to exercise his powers when it comes to choosing the players he wants to work with, especially since he has reportedly told 14 players to search for other employment opportunities. Out of those fourteen footballers, the names of Alexis Sánchez and Romelu Lukaku stand out, but some men that were considered locks to have played their final games at Old Trafford are nowhere to be found.

If Manchester United fans thought Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly or Phil Jones were on their way out, they will be shocked to learn that Solskjaer has given all of them a chance to prove themselves worthy of playing for the historic English side, according to ESPN.

The only center back that had a guaranteed spot by the end of the season was Victor Lindelof, but all the names mentioned above will have a chance to prove themselves during the team's pre-season matches. With this report, the likes of Manchester United trying to sign Kalidou Koulibaly or Harry Maguire seem seem far-fetched.

Manchester United is expected to have a busy summer, especially since some of their finest players, such as Paul Pogba and David De Gea, are also being tempted to leave the club. Only time will tell how many transfers Manchester United can secure before July 7, the deadline set by Solskjaer to have his full squad under his command.
