After 12 years of missing out, Brazil has its hopes high that this year could be the year it clinchs its ninth Copa America title.

Brazil's roster for the 2019 Copa America

Brazil head coach Tite will be hoping that the 24 players he has called up for this summer's tournament will stage a campaign which will eventually end his side's 12-year wait for the continental title. Below are the 24 men who will represent the Seleccao at the 2019 Copa America:

Goalkeepers: Alisson (Liverpool), Ederson (Man City), Cassio (Corinthians).

Defenders: Daniel Alves (PSG), Fagner (Corinthians), Filipe Luís (Atlético Madrid), Alex Sandro (Juventus), Miranda (Inter Milan), Thiago Silva (PSG), Marquinhos (PSG), Éder Militão (Porto/Real Madrid).

Midfielders: Casemiro (Real Madrid), Fernandinho (Man City), Arthur (Barcelona), Allan (Napoli), Lucas Paquetá (Milan), Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona).

Forwards: Neymar (PSG), Richarlison (Everton), David Neres (Ajax), Everton Soares (Grêmio), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Gabriel Jesus (Man City).

Who are Brazil's key players for the 2019 Copa America?

Neymar Jr.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar Jr still remains the poster boy of the Brazil national team. An impressive start for his club side was subsequently marred by a spell on the sidelines while the season reached its climax but the 27-year-old contributed greatly to the Parisians winning their sixth title in seven years, scoring 23 goals in 23 appearances in all competitions.

Neymar in Brazil training session

While he will be surrounded by some of the world's finest talents, a performance reminiscent of the one from the successful 2016 Summer Olympics campaign will in no doubt bring back the smiles to the million faces in the host nation after what was a disappointing spell at the World Cup last year.

With the weight of being the team captain now off his shoulder, Neymar will be required to lead with his goals.

Roberto Firmino

For the second season running, Liverpool is in the UEFA Champions League Final and that is partly due to the poacher instincts of Roberto Firmino and his band of finishers starring Mo Salah and Sadio Mane. The 27-year-old striker's knack for goals remains intact having managed 16 in 47 appearances for the Reds this season.

Where he falls short in his goal scoring, he makes up with his assists and chance creation, an attribute the likes of Neymar, Coutinho and Brazil's efficient frontline will hope to feed on. Honorable mentions: David Neres, Lucas Pacquetta, Eder Militao, Philippe Coutinho.

What are Brazil's fixtures at the 2019 Copa America?

As the host nation, Brazil will feature against Bolivia in the competition's curtain drawer. The Seleccao will take on Venezuela in the second group game before it face-off with Peru in its final Group A fixture.

What are Brazil's chances of winning the Copa America?

The time to end the Copa America title drought may be now for the Brazil national team. Primarily, the fact that there will be thousands of fans cheering on the players on home soil should be an added bonus to what is a fantastic squad assembled by Tite.

With a blend of youth and experienced individuals, the eight-time Copa America champions have been very impressive in recent matches. Should that form be carried into the tournament, critics will only have the bare minimum to say.

Also, the golden generation of the winners of the last two editions, Chile, has gradually phased out while other favorites Argentina may once again rely on the genius of Lionel Messi which, time and time again, has proved inadequate.

That withstanding, Uruguay might actually be the biggest force to be reckoned with while Brazil guns for the trophy. La Celeste still has the likes of Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez in red-hot goalscoring form while the new generation led by Vecino, Torreira, and Bentancur, will ensure a boisterous midfield.

All in all, Brazil has the right mix of experience, talent, finesse, and home-field advantage to cement its supremacy on the South American continent.
