The pair landed in the record books of the European cup competition with their respective goals.

Chelsea stars Pedro Rodriguez and Olivier Giroud have made history as their side emerged victors against Arsenal in the 2018/2019 Europa League Final. The duo was on the scoresheet to seal an emphatic 4-1 win for the Blues against their London rivals in Baku.

Following a rather drab first half, the game was brought into life minutes into the second half after Olivier Giroud got on the end of a cross by Emerson to break the deadlock. The Frenchman's 49th-minute goal took his tally in this season's Europa League campaign to 11 and his total club career goals to 200.

What the feat means is that the ex-Arsenal striker is now the first player since Alan Shearer to score 11 goals in major European competition for an English club. The former Newcastle forward did so during the 2004-2005 campaign for the Magpies.

Relatively, Pedro followed in his teammates footsteps to etch his name in the European competition's history by scoring Chelsea's second goal of the day. The Spanish winger's left-footed strike made him the first player in to score in the final of the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup.

The 31-year-old attacker achieved his feats in the Champions League as well as the Super Cup during his spell with Barcelona.
