Chelsea reveals why Sarri stormed out

Europa League final: Chelsea reveals why Sarri stormed out of training session

May 29, 2019 By Ali M.
Apparently, the Italian's reaction had nothing to do with the bust-up between David Luiz and Gonzalo Higuain.

Only a few hours remain from Chelsea's most important game of the season. However, fans were made to worry about the harmony of the squad after footage emerged showing David Luiz and Gonzalo Higuain in a bust-up and manager Maurizio Sarri storming out of the training session.

The Italian boss is no stranger to walking away in anger. After that embarrassing row between Kepa and the gaffer during the Carabao Cup final in which the keeper refused to be substituted, the manager left the dugout in frustration before eventually returning back.

And with the Europa League final being right around the corner, tension in the team is something they could do without. A video from Optus Sport shows Luiz elbowing his team-mate in the build-up to their confrontation. However, according to the Blues, Sarri's reaction had nothing to do with that incident.

The former Napoli boss threw his cap to the floor and kick it before picking it up and throwing it in anger once more as he left the pitch. As confirmed by the Independent, Maurizio's rage was not due to the players.

"Maurizio's frustration displayed at the end of training was not related to any of his players, but was due to not being able to practice set-plays in the final 15 minutes of the hour-long training session as it remained open to media," a spokesperson revealed.

The manager's future at Stamford Bridge remains under doubt after a turbulent debut season. He has been linked with a move to Juventus and could leave the club with an amazing parting gift that is the Europa League title.

The London giant must first beat Arsenal, though. They will lock horns with their Premier League rival in Baku in a highly-anticipated showdown with Unai Emery, the proclaimed expert of this tournament.
