A sensational move could well be on the cards with the Catalans hoping to reunite with their former star.

La Liga champions Barcelona, and Ligue 1 title winners, Paris Saint-Germain, have began negotiations for a transfer which will well shake up this summer's window. The two European heavyweights are in talks to broker a deal that will see Neymar Jr return to Camp Nou with Ousmane Dembele heading in the opposite direction.

The Brazilian superstar has been linked with a move back to Barcelona ever since he shocked the football fraternity with a world-record transfer to the PSG in 2017. Despite enjoying a fair share of success with the French capital outfit, the 27-year-old forward's stint has been marred by injuries and controversies while the rapid rise of Kylian Mbappe has also not helped his initial desire of being his side's poster boy.

With Neymar rumored to be unhappy, Catalan radio station RAC1 has reported that there is a way out for the former Santos prodigy. According to the report, the Barcelona dressing room, including Lionel Messi, are ready to forgive their former star and receive him back into the fold.

That withstanding, Ousmane Dembele - who has failed to fill the shoes of the player he was bought to replace - will be the man to sacrifice. The 22-year-old French winger is believed to be on the fringes and could be sold this summer after failing to nail a spot in the starting eleven following his arrival from Borussia Dortmund.

As per RAC1, negotiations are at a "very early stage" although both parties involved look to make headway in the coming weeks.

Neymar Jr enjoyed a fruitful spell with Barcelona between 2013 and 2017, scoring 105 goals in 186 appearances. The Brazilian forward won two La Liga titles, three Copa Del Reys and one UEFA Champions League title during his four-year spell.
