Leo may be against it, but the Blaugrana appears ready to replace their manager after the Copa del Rey final defeat.

After the disappointing Copa del Rey final loss against Valencia, Ernesto Valverde's future at the club has come under heavy scrutiny. Many who thought there was still hope of him remaining at Camp Nou after that Anfield disaster now believe it's a matter of time before he is sacked.

Gone is the treble, with the Blaugrana eventually settling for only one title in a disappointing season. As a result, Diario Gol claims that the club's board is ready to replace the Spanish tactician.

The report goes on to state that a replacement has already been identified. That man is none other than Massimiliano Allegri.

The Italian boss is regarded as one of the best managers out there at the moment. Having announced his decision to leave Juventus, the former Bianconeri gaffer will have a number of suitors.

One of them is said to be the Catalan giant. However, there is one roadblock and that is Lionel Messi. The Argentine reportedly wants Valverde to stay given the relationship they established over the last two seasons.

Allegri might be a great tactician but he too has failed to turn his team's domestic dominance into success in Europe. As a result, Valverde could be given another chance at redemption.

Furthermore, Josep Maria Bartomeu publicly defended the current gaffer after the loss to Valencia, stating that he is not to blame. The Barcelona president then went on to add that Ernesto is under contract at Camp Nou, hinting at a fulfillment of his deal. However, that semi-final defeat to Liverpool won't be forgotten soon.
