The Bundesliga champion has opened negotiations for the attacker but the Citizens are ready to fight to keep hold of him.

Leroy Sane has landed on the headlines after rumored emerged linking him with Bayern Munich. Shortly afterward, Uli Hoeness confirmed that the Bavarians have opened negotiations with the Citizens ace.

The reasons are obvious. The former Schalke ace is an undeniable talent who has found himself on the bench more often than preferred during the 2018/19 Premier League season. Given that that he would be in his home country and could be offered more playing time after the departures of Robben and Ribery, Sane might find turning down the Bundesliga champion a tough act.

Nonetheless, Guardiola's side is doing their best to hold on to their speedy winger. According to Goal, the club is set to hold contract talks with the player in an attempt to fight off interest from Bayern Munich.

Sane's current deal expires in 2021 and while the club has made several attempts to extend that contract, the German has snubbed those offers. The Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup holders prefer to keep the 23-year-old at the Etihad but should he make his intent to leave the club clear, the Manchester giant won't hold him against his wishes.

However, they will not entertain the idea of selling Leroy for anything less than $112M. Bayern has no intentions of spending more than $90M, which could lead to complications.
