England's squad and odds to win UNL final

England's squad, key players, winning odds for the 2019 UEFA Nations League finals

May 24, 2019 By Oscar Rojas
The Three Lions are deemed as the favorites to win the first-ever UEFA Nations League edition. Here's what you need to keep an eye on ahead of this summer's games.

England may not have started their run in the UEFA Nations League on a high note, but they surely found a way to finish off strong. The team's away win against Spain and a 2-1 victory afainst Croatia sealed their spot in the Finals while beating Spain and Croatia in Group 4 of League A.

Gareth Southgate's men need to step up to solve their defensive issues, as they have the worst defensive unit out of the four teams playing for the title. The Three Lions have conceded five goals, and that is something that will surely give the former defender some headaches ahead of their clash against The Netherlands.

What is England's squad for the UEFA Nations League finals?

Coach Gareth Southgate named a 27-man squad for the UEFA Nations League finals, considering that several players are not available to train due to their involvement in the UEFA Champions League final. The list will be narrowed on May 27, according to Southgate's words.

Who are the key players for England?

Harry Kane

The Tottenham striker has been recovering from an injury, but his availability for the tie against the Dutch side will be determined by his involvement in the UEFA Champions League final. Some say that if he can play for Tottenham, he is ready to do so for England. Either way,  The Three Lions' top active scorer will surely be a presence to be feared in all upcoming games.

Marcus Rashford

Manchester United's footballer is England's top scorer in the UEFA Nations League, and if Kane is not available, his input will come in handy when the Three Lions take the pitch against Koeman's men. His speed and drive will be crucial to help England through, and if Southgate needs someone to step up and take a crucial penalty, Rashford could be the man in charge.

What are the odds of England winning the 2019 UEFA Nations League?

England's fate will be sealed by their match against The Netherlands, which can be expected to be quite interesting. England will travel to Afonso Henriques Stadium to face the Dutch side on June 6, where they will face perhaps the most unexpected rival, given their absence from the 2018 FIFA World Cup. It won't be an easy task for Southgate's men, but if they can show the same strength they did during last year's World Cup, then the Three Lions have to be considered as a serious title contender.
