CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the footballer will be filling the voids left by Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

Bayern München has identified and started negotiating for their next transfer target.

Earlier this week, reports from England hinted that Die Roten were interested in signing Leroy Sané, and today, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the team's attempt to sign Sané.

The German winger had been linked to a move to the current Bundesliga champions before he decided to make the jump to the Premier League, but now, with Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery set to leave the club, a spot has opened for Sané to fill.

In fact, Rummenigge's right hand, Uli Hoeness, confirmed to Suddeutsche Zeitung that negotiations between the clubs are already underway.

"We are dealing with this player," Hoeness briefly said.

Rummenigge's words added more depth to this negotiation, which is believed to have started with a $89M offer.

"We will try it, but I can't promise whether it succeeds. We already had the idea of signing him when he was at Schalke, but back then we had no guaranteed starting XI spot for him, as Ribery and Robben were still at their top three years ago," Rummenigge told Bild.

Sané has scored 16 goals in 47 apps for Manchester City in all comps this season, but the German has refused to sign a contract extension with the EPL champions. If this deal goes through, Sané will become Bayern's third signing for the 2019-20 season, following the transfers of Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernández.
