Los Blaugranas are looking for a fifth straight Copa title. It will be up to Valencia to allow them to walk out with the trophy.

How do Barcelona and Valencia get to this game?

Barcelona makes it to this match after only winning one of their last four games, which include that 4-0 loss against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blaugranas' last win prior to this game took place against Getafe, while their last game of the 2018-19 La Liga season ended in a 2-2 draw vs Eibar.

Valencia makes it to the final while on a two-game winning streak, which gave them access to next year's UEFA Champions League. Prior to those games, Los Naranjeros had to taste defeat in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals, where Arsenal thumped them out of the competition with a 7-3 aggregate.

How did Barcelona and Valencia get to the Copa del Rey final?

Barcelona began their performance in the ongoing Copa del Rey in the Round of 32, where they eliminated Cultural Leonesa. Their next rival was Levante, who accused Barcelona of using an ineligible player but eventually lost the tie and the appeal on that matter. In the Quarterfinal stage, Los Culés eliminated Sevilla with a 6-3 aggregate, and their semi-final matchup against Real Madrid ended in a 4-1 score after two legs, giving them access to the title clash.

Valencia entered the competition in the same round as Barcelona, and they got to eliminate Ebro with a 3-1 aggregate. Their Round of 16 tie saw Los Naranjeros beat Sporting Gijon, while their quarterfinal clash ended in a 3-2 aggregate against Getafe. Valencia booked their spot in the final by beating Betis in their semi-final clash with a similar aggregate score as the one against Getafe.
