The former striker did not hold back when criticizing the players' habits off the pitch, which reflect how they feel about the club,in his opinion.

Seems like former Manchester United players have made a justifiable habit of slamming current Red Devils' footballers, and the most recent one to do so was none other than Wayne Rooney.

The club's all-time top scorer shared his thoughts on the team via The Wayne Rooney Podcast, where he hinted that there is respect for current coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but the team needs to take responsibility of their actions both in and out of the pitch.

"I think the players need to fear someone. They need to fear Ole Gunnar. They need to fear Michael Carrick. They need to respect them but fear them also," Rooney said.

But then, he turned his sights on what happens away from the pitch, which seems to be Rooney's main issue with some of the footballers. The English player believes that losing a game and then posting stuff on social media about their luxurious life style is not only disrespectful, but shows a glaring lack of commitment. That lack of commitment is shown by the players when they blame others for their actions on social media.

"You have got players losing a game and posting something on social media about their new clothing range, their new aftershave, whatever they're bringing out, which I find remarkable. When fans speak up on it and say 'why are you posting that?' they always have the marketing people to blame but take responsibility," Rooney added.

Without saying any names, the 33-year-old kept on criticizing the players' attitude, as if they were scared to face the music when things don't go their way.

"These players almost always like to find someone to hide behind, whether that is on their social media or on the football pitch and that's what they are doing," Rooney concluded.

The English side is set to experience a deep overhaul this summer, with players such as Paul Pogba, Alexis Sánchez and possibly David De Gea on the exit row. Let's see if their potential exits put an end to this disrespectful behavior Rooney talked about.
