The French forward will end a five-year spell at Atletico Madrid this summer and has been tipped to join the Camp Nou outfit.

Philippe Coutinho's agent has refuted claims that the Antoine Griezmann is on the verge of replacing his client at Barcelona. This comes in wake of the latter confirming his decision to leave Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.

At the moment, all seem set for Griezmann to complete his dream move to Barca after almost joining in the summer of 2018. Apparently, the Catalan club is ready to activate the Frenchman's 125 million pound release clause.

While at it, a few big names are expected to leave the Camp Nou outfit to finance the move and Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho has been identified as one of such.

Despite making a big money move from Liverpool in January 2018, the 27-year-old attacker has failed to cement his place in the starting eleven and has managed just five La Liga goals in 34 appearances this season.

The Brazilian's inconsistency has often attracted massive criticism from fans of his club and many have called for the player's sale this summer. With speculations of Coutinho's exit heightening amid rumors of Griezmann's arrival, his agent Andrea Bertolucci has squashed reports of the Frenchman possibly replacing the ex-Liverpool star.

"It's untrue that Griezmann is going to replace Philippe at Barcelona," he told AS.

"I don't know why they are saying that. I don't know about that and that's why I don't want to talk anymore, but it's false."

Coutinho's current contract with Barcelona runs until 2023.
