The Argentine ace will try to put an end to La Albiceleste's drought in international competitions.

Lionel Messi won't take "no" for an answer, and he seems determined to win at least one major title with Argentina.

After two retirements, the Argentine ace will be back with La Albiceleste to try to put an end to the 26-year silverware drought for the South American titans, as he has been included in Lionel Scaloni's preliminary roster for the competition.

The list will have to suffer a few changes, since there are more players included than those allowed by CONMEBOL. Nevertheless, Scaloni included them to have suitable replacements if things go sour for any of the team members.

Only seven of the players called up by Scaloni currently play in the Superliga Argentina, including goalkeeper Franco Armani, Exequiel Palacios, and Ivan Marcone.

Here's Argentina's preliminary squad for the 2019 Copa América.

Goalkeepers: Esteban Andrada, Franco Armani, Agustín Marchesín, Juan Musso, Gerónimo Rulli.

Defenders: Gabriel Mercado, Gonzalo Montiel, Juan Foyth, Renzo Saravia, Nicolás Otamendi, Walter Kanemann, Germán Pezzella, Ramiro Funes Mori, Nicolás Tagliafico, Marcos Acuña.
