The French footballer is set to pursue a deal with Barcelona, according to sources close to the 2018 World Cup winner.

Antoine Griezmann will play his final match for Atlético Madrid this weekend. The French footballer has held a meeting with coach Diego Simeone and president Miguel Angel Gil to let them know about his intentions to leave the club. 

On Monday, the club had revealed its intention to hold a meeting with the striker, who had been linked with a move to Barcelona for the past couple of weeks. A report by Marca states that the meeting has taken place already, and Griezmann will leave the club as soon as the 2018-19 La Liga season comes to an end.

Atlético's desires to hear Griezmann's intentions from his own voice were satisfied today, in order to end all controversy such as the one that surrounded him last year. The player's buyout clause had increased before the World Cup to over $200M, but now, the team interested in signing the footballer will "only" have to pay a bit over $120M for his services.
