The trio became worthy winners on the last day in the 2018/2019 English Premier League season.

Liverpool pair Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane alongside Arsenal's Pierre Emerick Aubameyang have capped what has been a scintillating season of Premier League football with a historic feat. The trio finished with respective goal tallies of 22 and as a result, had to share the spoils as the top goalscorers of the 2018/2019 edition of the competition.

What this meant was that, the Golden Boot accolade has been shared by three African players for the first time in the history of the English top-flight league. The prize comes as a consolation for Salah and Mane whose Liverpool side won 2-0 at home to Wolves but finished as runners-up behind champions Manchester City. Pep Guardiola's side won the title back-to-back after thrashing Brighton & Hove Albion 4-1 at the Amex Stadium.

Mane's two goals on Sunday ensured that the Reds finished the league campaign with a total of 97 points - the highest-ever managed by a team that did not win the title. Relatively, Aubameyang took his tally for the season to 22 by grabbing a brace in Arsenal's 3-1 win away to Burnley.

Nonetheless, the Gunners finished with 70 points - just one behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur who drew 2-2 away to Everton.
