After their humiliating Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool, Barcelona returns to action in La Liga.

Barcelona has suffered back-to-back defeats in their last two games, but it was their most recent loss that was utter humiliation. Leading Liverpool 3-0 in the Champions League, the Blaugrana needed only to see out the second leg in order to move on to the final. However, they lost 4-0 at Anfield and embarrassingly bowed out of Europe. The Catalan giant won five straight games before this unfortunate run.

As for Getafe, they have lost only once in their last seven games. However, they were only victorious in three of those ties, drawing the other three.

Who's injured/suspended for Barcelona vs Getafe?

Luis Suarez will not be at Valverde's disposal as the Uruguayan has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to knee surgery. He joins Ousmane Dembele (hamstring) and Rafinha (knee) on the sidelines.

As for the visitor, they will be without key defender Bruno Gonzalez and top scorer Mata who will miss this game due to suspension. Amath Ndiaye and Vitorino Antunes remain on the sidelines due to long-term injuries.

How can Barcelona forget that nightmare at Anfield? Valverde admitted after the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, which saw the Blaugrana crash out of the Champions League, that it would be difficult to lift his players' spirits. The treble appeared to be within their grasp and in 90 minutes, they let it slip away.

The league is done and dusted but a home defeat would only pile up the embarrassment. Furthermore, Messi will want to add to his goalscoring tally with the European Golden Boot in his radar. However, Getafe has something to fight for and might prove a tricky side.

Currently fourth in the table, the Madrid side is inches away from securing a Champions League spot. Valencia and Sevilla, in fifth and sixth, are breathing down their neck though. A surprise win at Camp Nou would be priceless for the visitor.
