The Egyptian was stretchered off the pitch in the 3-2 win at Newcastle, leaving fans worried.

Liverpool might have earned a dramatic win over Newcastle to keep their title hopes alive until the final day, but the St. James' Park victory handed fans a major scare.

This was after Egyptian star Mohamed Salah suffered a head injury in the 3-2 triumph. The attacker collided with Magpies goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and thus had to be stretchered off the pitch in tears.

With the Reds gearing up for a crucial Champions League tie with Barcelona, fans began fearing that they would be without Salah for their second leg semi-final showdown with the Blaugrana. However, Jurgen Klopp has offered a positive update.

Speaking after the game, the German boss admitted that the 26-year-old appeared totally fine in the dressing room. He said (as per Marca): "We have to see. He got a proper knock on the head.

"He watched the game, obviously inside, and was absolutely okay.

"We'll have to do a further assessment of course."

Origi, the man who replaced the Egyptian ace, went on to score the winning goal four minutes before time but Klopp will want his main man back for their upcoming European tie. The Merseyside giant has a 3-0 deficit to overturn at Anfield and the gaffer has revealed that Roberto Firmino will miss that tie. This means all hope will lie on the shoulders of Salah and Mane.
