In what looked like a handicapped Tottenham Hotspur side, Mauricio Pochettino named four former players of Ajax for Tuesday's Champions League encounter. The Argentine manager's side approached the semi-final match without star of the semi-final Heung-min who is suspended for the match.

Also, lead striker Harry Kane was unavailable due to an injury while the likes of Harry Winks, Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier were all sidelined as well. Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld - all products of Ajax - made up Spurs' backline in the makeshift 3-1-4-2 formation.

In the midfield, Christian Eriksen completed the quartet from the Dutch club after he was named alongside Dele Alli and wingback pair Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose.

Davinson Sanchez will particularly relish the reunion as he was part of the Ajax group that lost to Manchester United in Europa League Final three years ago. Following his departure, the Eredivisie outfit has found an established center back in Jong Ajax graduate Matthijs De Ligt.
