Pochettino believes the Dutch side has an unfair advantage of having more time to rest. Erik ten Hag has made his counterargument.

A lot has been said about the KNVB moving an entire round in the Eredivisie. However, Ajax manager Erik ten Hag could not help but respond after Mauricio Pochettino weighed in with his thoughts of the Dutch FA's actions.

Shortly after beating Juventus to secure a spot in the Champions League semi-final, the KNVB decided to move round 33 from April 28 to May 15. This means that De Jong and Co. will not have to make the trip to north London only two days after playing in the Dutch top-flight and have thus enjoyed a full week's of rest.

Spurs, on the other hand, have only been afforded three days of rest, having played against West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday. Pochettino admitted that the opponent has an unfair advantage, but Ten Hag sees things differently.

The Ajax boss was keen to stress that this is just a mere case of different circumstances, pointing out that he has not complained about the major financial disadvantage Godenzonen are at when compared to their Premier League opponent in terms of TV revenue.

"I can't really say a lot about that," the manager said (as per Sky Sports) in response to Mauricio's comments.

"There are always different circumstances, we get 10 million [euros] from TV, they get a lot more, is that still unfair for them or for us?

"Everyone has different circumstances, you just have to deal with those circumstances. That is what we do and that is just the way it is."

The Eredivisie outfit, who is also in the midst of a heated league battle with PSV for the title, will be aiming to reach the Champions League final. Tottenham stands in their way, but after eliminating both Real Madrid and Juventus, the Dutch side will be confident of adding Son and Co. to their list of victims.
