Pogba agrees personal terms with Real Madrid

Pogba reportedly agrees personal terms with Real Madrid after asking for a transfer

April 27, 2019 By Ali M.
The odds of the Frenchman leaving this summer have increased after this latest rumor.

Paul Pogba is once again dominating the headlines, but this time it has nothing to do with a public rift with his manager. Instead, the Frenchman is being heavily linked with a Manchester United exit after rediscovering his form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The midfielder, alongside his Red Devils team-mate, has drawn blanks recently but he impressed enough during that unforgettable spell at the beginning of Solskjaer's reign, earning him a spot in the PFA Team of the Year. Now, he reportedly seeks an exit.

Real Madrid is his likely destination and the latest reports say that the World Cup winner has asked to be sold. The 26-year-old does not see the Old Trafford side competing for major titles next season despite the departure of Mourinho and is thus ready to leave, asking for business to be done quickly in order to avoid a dragged out transfer saga.

According to AS, Pogba has even agreed personal terms with Los Blancos. He will reportedly earn roughly $13.3M annually at Santiago Bernabeu, similar to Alexis Sanchez's current wage package at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer recently denied that the midfielder is pushing for an exit, insisting that his heart is still with Man United. Furthermore, the club knows Pogba is not only a talented player but a marketable one as well and could thus be reluctant to sell. However, his ego is said to be an issue in the dressing room.

England's most successful club will not consider selling their prized asset for anything less than $168M. However, Zidane is a huge fan and is eager to bring his countryman, alongside fellow Premier League star Eden Hazard, to Madrid. Gareth Bale, a player who is destined to leave Real Madrid this summer, could be used as a bargaining chip given Man United's interest in the Welshman.

As for now, he remains a key figure at the Theatre of Dreams and will likely start their upcoming clash with Chelsea. This will be a crucial game for the Red Devils as they continue a heated fight with the Blues and Arsenal in the top-four race.
