The Red Devils will be hosting Guardiola's men on Wednesday, with Liverpool hoping for a favor from their bitter rival in the title race.

On Wednesday, the always-exciting Manchester Derby will take place. This clash between Man United and Man City could help decided the title, with the Citizens being in a heated Premier League race with Liverpool.

Guardiola's men currently sit two points behind the Reds but have a game in hand. This means if they were to win all their remaining games, the title will remain in Manchester. This means should the Red Devils earn a draw or beat Sterling and Co, the odds will shift in Liverpool's favor.

However, Klopp is not putting all his hopes on Solskjaer's crew doing them a favor in the title race. In fact, the German boss questions whether the Old Trafford side can even put up a fight with their neighbor, citing their 4-0 thrashing at Everton in a dig at England's most successful club.

He said, as per Goal: "It [the derby] is not something we can influence, and it does not look like United are in a place to, either. What was the [United] score today? 3-0, 4-0, to Everton?"

The former Dortmund boss added: "It [the derby] is a normal game, a game they [City] have to play.

"We had to play that game as well and Man United was in that moment obviously in a much better moment when we played them, so it was a 0-0. So, on a good day maybe, it [the derby] is a draw.

"We'll see what comes out on Wednesday, we have no influence on that, but we still have to play games after that.

"So, if United get a point or whatever and we win [against] Huddersfield Town, go to Newcastle United after Barcelona and think we have it halfway or whatever, then we will get a knock there.

"It's all difficult, we just have to stay focused on our things – that's what worked really well so far and I don't see any reason why we should change."

While there might be truth to what Klopp is saying, the home clash with Man City will be an important, must-win clash for Man United regardless. The Red Devils have lost seven of their last nine games in all competitions since eliminating PSG from the Champions League and have thus lost ground in the top-four race.

And since their European dream was put to the sword by Barcelona, finishing in the top four is the only route to the Champions League for Solskjaer's team. Whether they can hold their own against the reigning Premier League champion is yet to be seen.
