The Special One has been linked to almost every major club, and Bayern could experience a massive overhaul this summer. Is it a match made in heaven?

Jose Mourinho has been linked to yet another coaching gig, but this time, it was a former pupil who proposed him as one of the best bets Bayern could make in the near future.

The Special One -currently out of a job- has been linked to the likes of PSG, Monaco, and other top-tier clubs, but earlier today, former Bayern and Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack suggested that Die Roten should consider Mourinho to become their coach in the foreseeable future.

Speaking to Bild, Ballack admitted that Niko Kovac's job has not been bad, but given the planned overhaul at Bayern, and with Mourinho out of a job, his hiring would bring something else to the club and to the league.

"Right now Niko Kovac is the head coach and that should be respected. He does a good job, but one cannot deny that, at some point, the appointment of Mourinho would bring a certain glamour to the club and to the Bundesliga," Ballack said.

"Mou" and Ballack, back when both of them worked together at Chelsea.

Bayern is expected to see some of their oldest stars leave this summer, with team exec Uli Hoeness promising the highest transfer budget ever for Die Roten to get back to the top in European football. Ballack believes that a coach like Mourinho could benefit the team in their attempt to lure top talent to Allianz Arena.

"With a coach like Mourinho, it's probably easier for a club to get top stars. At the moment, the Bundesliga does not have the same appeal for world-class players as the Premier League. But Bayern would be well-adviced to have world stars in their team (if Mourinho arrives)," Ballack added.

The 2002 FIFA World Cup runner up with Germany compared Mou's potential arrival to what happened when Pep Guardiola joined Bayern.

"It has been seen with Pep Guardiola. His appointment gave the league a giant jolt, even if he did not win the Champions League at the end with Bayern," the player concluded.

Mourinho is reportedly interested in returning to the sidelines next summer. If Bayern loses the title against Borussia Dortmund, it would not be hard to imagine the German giants searching for Kovac's replacement. Only time will tell if The Special One is special enough to manage Die Roten.
