The player's contract with Spurs ends in 2020, and even the team would force the player to join Los Blancos in order to avoid boosting an EPL rival.

Real Madrid has been given a massive boost in their pursuit of midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The player's contract with Tottenham ends in 2020, and while Mauricio Pochettino still wants to keep him around, the midfielder seems determined to leave Spurs in order to win trophies elsewhere. According to the Daily Express, Eriksen's intentions are well-known by president Daniel Levy, who is now willing to let the player leave as long as Los Blancos meet their asking price.

Initially, Levy pretended to collect over $200M last summer for the player's services, but with his contract expiring next season, Levy would be willing to part ways with the footballer for just over $100M. While there are other options on the table, Levy is willing to negotiate with Real Madrid and no one else, and here's why.

Levy's reasons to let Eriksen leave this summer have to do with a Premier League rival. Manchester United has shown interest in signing the footballer, but Levy does not want to strengthen any of his EPL opponents. Hence, Tottenham's main man will try to put an end to their hopes by transferring Eriksen to Los Blancos.

The report by the Daily Express reveals that there is a tug of war between Spurs and Manchester United ever since 2008, when Dimitar Berbatov left Tottenham to join Manchester United. None of Spurs' players have made their way from White Hart Lane to Old Trafford since then, and Real Madrid has taken advantage of that fact when they signed Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, both on the Red Devils' agenda back then.

Will there be a third transfer between Tottenham and Real Madrid this summer? Only time will tell, but we will surely let you know if it happens.
