Current form: Milan vs Lazio
Milan come into this game in troubling form, to say the least. The Rossoneri have failed to win their last four games, picking up just one point during this run, and now see their top four spot coming under serious threat. Atalanta, Roma, and Lazio have managed to close the gap, and both La Dea and the Giallorossi could actually overtake Milan if the Diavolo fail to pick up all three points against the Biancocelesti this Saturday.
During that time, Milan have managed to only draw relegation-threatened Udinese, although their 2-1 loss to Juventus wasn't without some controversy as they were denied what appeared to be a clear-cut penalty. Regardless, they will have to pick themselves up and move on, as Atalanta in particular have been especially determined as of late to catch them, and will be facing struggling side Empoli on Monday. La Dea also will have top striker Duvan Zapata back for that contest and thus will be expected to pick up all three points there - making it that much more paramount that the Diavolo
Lazio, for their part, will also be desperate to get back to winning ways here. Simone Inzaghi's side threw away two easy opportunities to pick up six points and push themselves into the Champions League places recently by failing to beat the likes of SPAL (lost 1-0) and Sassuolo (had to settle for a two-all draw). Nonetheless, the Aquile still do have a game in hand against Udinese and could use that to their full advantage as the race for a top four spot heads down to the wire. That being said, the visitors won't want to put all their eggs in one basket and expect that a win over Udinese will be enough to help them seal a top four berth. However, their bad record at the Stadio San Siro - they haven't won at this ground in nearly 30 years - could possibly count against them this weekend.
The two sides are set to meet yet again in the Coppa Italia semi-finals in less than two weeks time, but all eyes will be on who comes out on top in this crunch tie.
