Argentina and the FIFA U-20 World Cup has been a match made in heaven. The South Americans are the most successful side in this competition, winning it a record six times.

It was clear that La Albiceleste would excel in this competition since their very first appearance. The CONMEBOL giant made their debut at Japan 1979 and conquered all en route to the title. They were led by Ramon Diaz and Diego Maradona, but they aren't the only Argentine icons to taste success, with the likes of Cambiasso, Riquelme, Aimar, Saviola, and Messi all getting their hands on this trophy.

They have made 15 appearances in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, losing in the final only once in seven appearances. La Albiceleste have also been crowned champions at Qatar 1995, Malaysia 1997, Argentina 2001, Netherlands 2005, and Canada 2007.

Since retiring from football, he is yet to manage a senior side. He began his coaching career in 2000 with San Lorenzo and has enjoyed spells with South Korea and Armenia.
