Just because the Gunners lost in the Carling Cup final last week doesn’t mean that they’ve lost all hope, insists Chamakh. Tonight’s Arsenal vs Leyton Orient game is a perfect chance to bounce back, he says...
The Moroccan international, who is still bitter about Arsenal’s unlucky defeat to Birmingham City at Wembley, has not given up on helping the Gunners break their title drought after 6 years now. As Arsenal remain in contention to clinch silverware in the remaining three competitions, Marouane Chamakh prefers to look forward to a brighter future.

On Wednesday night, Arsenal will host Leyton Orient in an FA Cup 5th Round replay and the player is excited about the opportunity that this fixture presents to the wounded Gunners. He assured fans of his club’s ambitious spirit as he declared:

“On Monday morning we had training. On Wednesday we play again and we have the chance to bounce back.

“We have all had a bad night [after the Carling Cup final defeat] but we will bounce back. We are lucky to have another game to play as soon as Wednesday.

“We need to think about that game, to focus on it and not think about this final. We need to forget about what happened and make sure that the defeat doesn’t stay on our minds.

“We still have a lot of big games and challenges to play. We will fight on until the end of the season.”
