The Welshman was forced to leave the pitch in the second half of Monday's win after picking up an injury.

Arsenal earned a vital win against Newcastle on Monday. After seeing Tottenham lose 2-1 at Liverpool over the weekend, the Gunners knew a victory over the Magpies would propel them into third spot and triumph they did.

Aaron Ramsey, who was wearing the captain's armband in the absence of Laurent Koscielny, opened the scoring in the first half for the home side. Late on in the second half, Alexandre Lacazette lobbed the keeper to double their lead and secure all three points.

However, that win saw their Welsh midfielder leave the pitch after 67 minutes with an injury ahead of a tricky month. Emery's side will travel to Everton next Sunday before facing Napoli both home and away in the Europa League quarter-finals, with a trip to Watford separating the two legs.

However, the Spanish boss offered assurances after the Newcastle win. Speaking to the media, the gaffer offered optimism over the goalscoring midfielder's fitness, revealing that it was not a serious injury.

"We are in a good moment but each match is a new test," the former PSG tactician told BBC Match of the Day (as per the Metro). "I hope Aaron Ramsey’s injury is not serious. The doctor is thinking it’s a small injury.

"We are improving. Today we can finish third, but the next match against Everton is difficult. Our rivals are going to win a lot of matches."

The north London side will be keen on having the Welshman back in the squad as soon as possible. While he has already agreed to a deal with Juventus which will see him leave this summer, Ramsey remains a crucial figure at the club.

With Xhaka out due to a groin injury and in doubt for the Goodison Park trip, Rambo will be needed in the middle of the park. Furthermore, his goalscoring threat will be crucial in their final stretch as they look to finish in the top four ahead of Tottenham, Man United, and Chelsea.
