The ex-Manchester City prodigy hinted at a potential move away from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho has sparked transfer rumors after retweeting a post hinting at him joining Manchester United. The Twitter post which has since been deleted off the 18-year-old's timeline was about Rio Ferdinand urging his former club to go all-out for the prodigy.

In an interview with Goal, the ex-England international stated that Sancho is ripe for the Premier League and he will be delighted to see the youngster at Manchester United amid recent speculations.

"I would take him [at United] all day. English, young, hungry and talented, that's all I need to know," Ferdinand said.

"I have known Jadon since he was a kid, knew him through friends. I have known his family since he was a kid, before he was even born.

"He has got the mentality. The mentality is a big part of it all, whether he has the physical attributes or not.

"The kid's mentality, to leave Manchester City, who wanted him to stay, to just say 'My ability deserves it and I think I can do it straight away, right now. I am not waiting.' And he has gone and done that. You have to respect that."

The article which covered Ferdinand's comments was shared on Goal's Twitter account. According to Manchester Evening News, the post was retweeted by Sancho but was subsequently deleted.

The teenager, who was handed his competitive international debut for England against Czech Republic on Friday, has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Borussia Dortmund. His involvement for Der BVB has seen him scoring nine and assisting 14 across all competitions this season.

As per reports, the ex-Man City star in on the radar of Manchester United. The Red Devils are said to be weighing up a 100-million-pound offer for the attacker's signature in the summer.
