Both sides are battling it out for the Premier League title, but one will be in for a rough period next month.

The international break is upon us and this gives several managers the opportunity to reevaluate the situation ahead of the final stretch of the 2018/19 season. Two bosses who will be analyzing the upcoming fixtures during this break are Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.

Their Liverpool and Man City sides are in the midst of a heated Premier League battle. Both teams are going toe-to-toe for the title, with the Reds currently holding a two-point advantage having played an extra game.

Action will not resume in England until the final two days of March, meaning April will be the month to ponder over for both tacticians. Not only will the next month see the Citizens face a rough run of fixtures, but Guardiola's men will also be fighting on three different fronts as opposed to two for Liverpool.

After traveling to Fulham on March 30, Man City will lock horns with Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final. While this is undoubtedly a winnable game for Aguero and Co, Pep will have to decide between resting his key players and possibly coming close to an embarrassing defeat similar to that Swansea encounter, or start his big names and risk burning them out for their following crucial tie.

That all-important tie is their Champions League quarter-final trip to Tottenham. This will kick off a tough period in which they will face Spurs another two times -- once in the Premier League and once in the reverse leg -- and then Man United in the Manchester Derby. Man City will also have to travel to Crystal Palace and Burnley in that same month, meaning a lot of points could be dropped.

Things won't be easy for Guardiola's men come April

Liverpool's first game after the international break will be a tough one as well -- a home clash with Tottenham in the league. In April, aside from their home and away Champions League showdown with Porto, Salah and Co. will face Southampton and Cardiff away and Chelsea and Huddersfield at home in the English top-flight which is the only other competition they are competing in.

Liverpool's last seven EPL games

31 March: Tottenham (H)

5 April: Southampton (A)

14 April: Chelsea (H)

21 April: Cardiff (A)

26 April: Huddersfield (H)

4 May: Newcastle (A)

12 May: Wolves (H)

This means both teams will face two top-six rivals in their last eight league games -- seven in the Merseyside giant's case. Two weeks separate the Reds' Anfield clashes with Tottenham and Chelsea while the Citizens will only get a four-day rest between hosting Spurs and traveling to Old Trafford for the Manchester Derby.

Man City's last eight EPL games:

30 March: Fulham (A)

TBD: Cardiff (H)

14 April: Palace (A)

20 April: Tottenham (H)

24 April: Man Utd (A)

28 April: Burnley (A)

04 May: Leicester (H)

12 May: Brighton (A)

Chasing the quadruple will likely translate into more tired legs for the Etihad side. Their run of games appear to be trickier than Liverpool's on paper but Pep's men have persevered through a difficult period once before to return in the title chase. Klopp's side could drop points against the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea, or even Newcastle and Wolves in their final two games. This should all make for a nail-biting end to the 2018/19 Premier League season.
