Will the uptick in form of Mario Balotelli inspire Marseille against PSG in Le Classique? Live Soccer TV's match preview provides team news, match facts, and global broadcast listings for PSG vs. Marseille.

Current form: PSG vs Marseille

Suffice it to say, the Champions League continues to be PSG's Waterloo. Les Parisiens again came up short in Europe's elite competition as they failed to make any inroads this season. This time, their conquerors were none other than Manchester United. And once again, the ambitious French side threw away a seemingly comfortable advantage only to end up on the losing end.

Despite enjoying a 2-0 away lead - something that always guaranteed safe passage to the next round - PSG were dumped out after Manchester United rallied back to win 3-1 on the night and 3-3 on aggregate. That huge blow certainly has left them reeling, as now they will have to settle for domestic silverware once again. Although they responded by taking out their frustration on Dijon and beating them 4-0, it does little to erase the bitter disappointment PSG's fans surely must feel at seeing their team fail to at least get to the semi-finals of the Champions League this season. And it does little to alleviate the pressure that surely must exist on Thomas Tuchel's shoulders.

Next up for PSG is a clash with Marseille. Le Classique is arguably France's biggest derby tie of the season, akin to the Classico over in Spain, the Derby d'Italia in Italy, the Manchester Derby in England, or any of the major London Derbies featuring Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham. Liverpool versus Manchester United also would fall into that major category as well. Marseille presently find themselves in fourth spot - a whopping 27 points behind PSG, so they are well out of the title race, but they would love nothing but to become only the second side to beat Les Parisiens in Ligue 1 this season. And even better so, to do it at the Parc des Princes.

With Mario Balotelli - yes, that same Mario Balotelli who has plied his trade at a slew of clubs including Liverpool, Manchester City, both Milan clubs, and most recently, Nice - actually impressing and firing on all cylinders, Marseille will be certainly fancying their chances at a major upset. Balotelli has netted five goals so far for his new side and has truly impressed coach Rudi Garcia with his work ethic since arriving from Nice in a mid-season transfer, so despite PSG's formidable home form and Marseille's less-than-impressive historical record against Les Parisiens in this contest, the odds just may be tipped in the visitors' favor to finally get the better of the capital based club in Le Classique this Sunday.
