Some players of the Ligue 1 outfit could not keep it together days after getting knocked out of the UEFA Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Thomas Tuchel has disclosed the two unusual demands his players made following their shock Champions League exit. According to the German manager, some of his players wanted a holiday and also for the season to end after last Wednesday's defeat to Manchester United at the Parc des Princes.

PSG's chances of potentially becoming European champions this season was dealt a massive blow after the Red Devils overturned a 2-0 home defeat to progress to the quarter-finals via a 3-3 aggregate scoreline.

United made history at the expense of the Ligue 1 outfit by becoming the first club in the history of the competition to win a knockout tie from a 2-0 deficit at home.

Apparently, the days after the shock exit have been very difficult for some Paris Saint-Germain players with Kylian Mbappe even confirming that he has had sleepless nights. Addressing the press ahead of Tuesday's league clash with Dijon, Thomas Tuchel revealed that a host of his players wanted the season to be over in order to put the chapter behind them.

"Just days after the match, many of the players wanted the season to be over and to go on holiday for a bit. "It was not an option.

"We are not going to win the Champions League this season, but it is an opportunity for us to act like champions."

Meanwhile, the turn of event in the European cup game stirred up agitation among PSG's ultras who expected a better performance from the current Ligue 1 champions.

"The ultras are sad and angry," Tuchel added. "We understand that and accept it.

"However, they must understand that nobody feels worse than we do right now. We respect the fans and performed brilliantly together at Old Trafford. Now is not the time to voice doubts."
