What was supposed to be a day to remember for David Beckham almost turned into a nightmare. Fortunately for the English legend, it was just a prank.
The LA Galaxy, along with Beckham's friend and celebrity James Corden, decided to pull a prank on the former footballer by staging a mock unveiling of a statue that was supposed to honor "Becks". Corden's show went as far as hiring actors to make fun of Beckham by calling him "Dave", or having LA Galaxy exec Chris Klein playing a major role in the prank.
An actor in disguise playing the sculptor was the one in charge of presenting the statue to Beckham, which had the former footballer clapping with a frown on his face. Eventually, Beckham realized that this was all a joke and sighed with relief.
Have a look at the statue on this video issued by the Los Angeles-based side. (Footage owned by "The Late Late Show with James Corden")
