After accumulating 90 yellow cards in his pro career, the Brazilian midfielder has finally seen red.

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro instigated a troll-fest on social media following his sending off in Sunday's league clash with Real Valladolid. Some have branded the incident as historic as it is hard to fathom that the boisterous Brazilian – who has been at the center of numerous midfield battles – is just picking up his first red card as a Blanco.

On the account of the night's proceeding, Real Madrid's struggles could have overshadowed Casemiro's fate had it not been for a pinch of luck and an ignited desire among the side. Santiago Solari's men endured a frantic start with Valladolid opening the scoring via Anuar in the 29th minute. Prior to the first goal, the hosts missed a penalty and had two goals ruled offside.

Real Madrid's fears of a probable upset were eased after Varane grabbed the equalizer following a goalkeeping error. Benzema then bagged a double before Modric delivered the final blow with a sublime finish.

In the mix of the mauling, Casemiro received his first booking by stepping across Oscar Plano and barging him to the ground in the 69th minute. Eleven minutes later, the 27-year-old defensive midfielder was given his marching orders for a second booking after he conceded another free-kick by fouling Plano and obstructing the player from taking the free-kick.

Despite having the reputation of being a bit rugged at times, statistics have revealed that Casemiro had gone 188 games as a Real Madrid player without picking up a single red card. Below are how fans reacted to the news on social media:
