The Reds' winger bagged another brace as his side cruised to an emphatic 4-2 victory at home against Burnley on Sunday.

On a day that a lot could have gone sideways for Liverpool in its title chase, Sadio Mane stepped up once again to reaffirm his value to the Reds. Jurgen Klopp's side entered Sunday's league clash with Burnley trailing league-leader Manchester City by four points. Imagine the magnitude of the scare that swept through Anfield after the Clarets took the lead six minutes into the proceeding!

Nevertheless, that was short lived with Roberto Firmino equalizing 13 minutes later. The Brazilian will go on to grab another goal in the second half to complement a double by Sadio Mane who has been in superb form in recent months.

The turn of the year has seemingly brought good tidings for the Senegalese forward considering he has scored eight goals in his last nine appearances across all competitions for Liverpool. Cumulatively, the Reds have registered 18 goals in those matches, averaging two goals per game.

As far as ratios are concerned, Mane's tally signifies 44.4 percent of the goals scored by the Anfield outfit in those nine games. In contrast, his attacking partners in Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino have managed three goals apiece in their respective last nine outings.

At the moment, there are eight games left to be played with the end of the season fast approaching. However, while the fate of Liverpool potentially lifting the league trophy partly lies in the hands of clubs yet to face Manchester City in the second round, the Reds will only hope that Sadio Mane replicates his fine form against the upcoming opposition.

Between the reminder of March and May where the league will be concluded, Liverpool's resolve to potentially snatch the Premier League title off the hands of Manchester City will be tested in games against Fulham, Spurs, Southampton, Chelsea, Cardiff, Huddersfield, Newcastle and Wolves.

Interestingly, Mane only managed to score twice against Cardiff City among the lot in the first round of the ongoing campaign but failed to be involved in any goal scored against the remaining seven teams. As to whether fortune will favor the Senegalese's newly-found confidence, time will undoubtedly be the judge.
