Man Utd icon Cantona trolls Neymar after clashing with player's father in PSG win

After nearly trading blows with Neymar Sr, the Frenchman has taken to social media to mock the Brazilian superstar.

If Neymar thought he could catch a break now that the weekend has rolled in, he thought wrong. The Brazilian has become the target of Eric Cantona, with the Frenchman taking aim at the Brazilian on social media.

The Man United icon took to Instagram to poke fun at the PSG superstar, albeit via a cryptic post. This comes after reports emerged claiming the former Old Trafford man clashed with Neymar's father.

The King was present at Parc des Princes for the Red Devils' unforgettable encounter with the Ligue 1 giant. A last-gasp penalty goal from Marcus Rashford secured a progression to the quarter-finals which appeared impossible in an embarrassing game for Les Parisiens.

Cantona was one of many to celebrate that 3-1 victory but things got heated when he Eric and his friend aimed shushing gestures at Neymar's box. The player was not present as he had made his way to the dressing room but his enraged father was at hand and thus went to confront the Frenchman.

And insult was reportedly hurled at Neymar Sr before security had to step in to ensure a brawl did not break out. Whether Cantona's dig at the 27-year-old stems solely from his altercation with his dad is unclear but his troll has made a stir nonetheless.

"Just like the barbecue, you take it out in spring when the sun begins to shine," the 52-year-old wrote on his Instagram story alongside a picture of the Selecao ace.

The Premier League legend appears to be mocking the Brazilian's absence from the squad in their time of need, as he had to watch from the stands as Tuchel's men were eliminated. The 27-year-old, who has recently been linked with another record move to Real Madrid, remains on the sidelines as he continues his recovery from a foot injury.

As for Cantona's former side Man United, they are gearing up for a crucial weekend clash in the English top-flight. The 20-time champion will travel to Arsenal on Sunday in a crucial showdown in the top-four race.
