A good deal of TV channels will broadcast a selection of placement matches as the 2019 Algarve Cup comes to an end on Wednesday, March 6.

What is the format of the 2019 Algarve Cup?

This year's tournament has 12 teams sectioned in four groups of three teams each. This is how each table looked like after the group stage:

Group A

Canada: 4 points (+1)
Scotland: 3 points (+2)
Iceland: 1 point (-3)

Group B:

Poland: 6 points (+4)
Spain: 3 points (-1)
Netherlands: 0 point (-3)

Group C:

Norway: 6 points (+3)
Denmark: 3 points (+0)
China PR: 0 point (-3)

Group D:

Sweden: 3 points (+2)
Switzerland: 3 points (-1)
Portugal: 3 points (-1)

In the Algarve Cup, there is no elimination. Instead, teams are ranked in new groups for 1st placed teams, 2nd placed teams, and 3rd placed teams based on their group stage performance. This is done to decide the fixtures of placement matches.

- In the 1st placed teams' table, the top two qualify for the final whilst the last two settle for the third-place match.

- In the 2nd placed teams' table, the top two must contest the fifth-place match whilst the bottom two get to play in the seventh-placed match.

- And finally, in the 3rd placed teams' table, the top two fight for the ninth-placed match whilst the bottom two must find consolation in the eleventh-placed match.

When is the 2019 Algarve Cup final and third-place final?
